About Me

I'm Dr Spiro Gaitatzis, Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist in London.

About Me

A consistent reflection in my work is simple: progress happens when you feel understood and challenged. My job is to bring both - warmth and respect, plus the structure and accountability that turns insight into change.

I aim to remain human in my practice: holding rigour, compassion, curiosity, and humility.

I am HCPC-registered and completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience, King’s College London.

Current Appointments

I work as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist in neuro-rehabilitation within the NHS. In this role, I conduct neuropsychological assessments, provide psychological therapy and support for individuals and families, and support staff within the service.

I am also affiliated with the Clinical Psychology Doctoral programme at King’s College London, providing pastoral to trainee clinical psychologists and contributing to teaching.

I’ve worked across NHS, third sector, and private services, supporting children, young people, adults, and families in:

  • Major trauma and specialist neurorehabilitation.
  • Neurodiversity services.
  • Forensic and community mental health.

My research experience and interests focuses on trauma, discrimination, and digital psychological interventions. Alongside my clinical work, I’ve delivered consultation, supervision, and training across NHS, charities, and private services, especially in areas of stress control, neurodiversity, identity, and inclusive mental health.

How I work Therapeutically

My approach is integrative and informed by highly-regarded approaches to therapy, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Systemic and Psychodynamic approaches. The work is trauma-informed and identity-aware: creating safety, building trust, offering choice, and working collaboratively, to strengthen your agency. In practice, we’ll make space to understand who you are and the parts of you that influence how you interpret what’s happening, what matters to you, and what you want to change to get closer to your full potential.

I offer therapy in English, Spanish, and Greek.
